How do I contact a doctor after the office is closed?
Our physicians are on call at all hours! You may call the main number (831.373.1373) and the answering service will take your call and direct it to the physician that is on-call.
When should I schedule my first pregnancy exam?
Ideally you should schedule your first OB visit with our team at around 6-8 weeks from your last menstrual period. However, if you are bleeding or in pain before then you should schedule an appointment immediately.
What will happen at my first prenatal exam?
The first visit will usually include a general exam and pelvic exam, blood work, assessment for any high-risk pregnancy factors, and any other testing or referrals deemed necessary based on your medical history. We will discuss any questions or concerns that you may have. We also give you lots of helpful information so that you can have an enjoyable pregnancy.
How often should I have a wellness checkup and what is included in a gynecologic exam?
The yearly exam consists of a general exam, breast and pelvic exams. A speculum is usually used to look at the cervix and vagina. Your doctor may not always need to do a pap test but will still need to do a pelvic exam every year to check the uterus and ovaries; and a breast exam yearly.
